My daughter agreed to be partners with a friend of ours in a fireworks stand, and she also has a part-time job at the bowling alley, so I agreed to fill in for her when she is working. Not only is it hot as hades outside, the humidity is so high you can cut it with a knife. It is miserable, at least I only have to cover for her 5 hours at a time in the evenings. This week my son needs me to keep my grandson Monday and Tuesday, their babysitter is on vacation. Yesterday my husband and I took off for Jackson, we went to the Casey Jones Museum and 2 Vineyards, had some good ole, southern cuisine at the Casey Jones Country Store, it was awesome!

This Week
This week has been busy and it's only 1/2 over with, I've not done ANY crafting at all or even designing, I've been working in my yard, when we are not having tornado warnings, and keeping the house in order. I really need to organize and clean my scrap room, I think that is what is holding me back right now.

Busy weekend
On Friday a friend and I went to Nashville shopping and to eat, I had a great time, I usually do with her. Saturday my husband was gone all day, so I cleaned and piddled around the house, did my grocery shopping etc. Then Saturday night I picked up my grandson and he spent the night and all day yesterday with us, my husband helped my brother lay down his wood flooring so I was alone with Zach all day. I'd forgotten how active and tiring a 18 month old boy could be, I took him shopping and bought him a ball, and he played with that all day, I slept very well last night, no crafting done at all this weekend.

TGIF
For some reason this week was long, maybe it was because I am trying to save some money, and only had $30 in my checking account, and today is payday, so I looked forward to today. I'm so spoiled, I love to spend money, well who doesn't. My mother grew up in Germany during the War, she's told me stories about how they went to the fields after the farmers who owned them dug up their potato crop and scavanged for potatoes they missed, how my grandmother sliced the bread in portions so they'd have enough to last the week. I can't even relate to that, I've always been able to go to the store and buy whatever I want to, sometimes I thought I didn't have much money to do it, but I still got more than just a bag of potatoes. I'm thinking today how good I have it even when I think I don't. So I've decided today I'm going to really count my blessings and be happy with what I have.
